Acting, Modeling, Pageant Coaching - Class Descriptions: Ages 5 - Adults


Our acting and modeling classes cover runway/modeling techniques, photography-posing techniques, posture, accessories-modeling, basic makeup and hair styling skills, auditioning for stage/film, TV commercial delivery, spokesmodel development, résumé building, social etiquette, and industry networking. We also offer pageant training and coaching for all levels of pageants and talent competitions including the local level, regionals, and nationals.


Acting & Modeling Class (Children ages 5-7) This acting and modeling class is a good introduction to acting, modeling and theater-craft for children age 5-7. Age-appropriate material helps to instill self-confidence, develop public speaking skills, and introduce theater skills to lay a great foundation. Students will learn runway/modeling techniques, photo-posing techniques, posture, auditioning for stage/film, TV commercial delivery, and polite social etiquette. Our acting classes help students improve public speaking skills, learning stage direction and direction for video and film, reduce stage nerves, and develop a more confident stage presence.  


Acting & Modeling Class (Youth Ages 8-12) This acting and modeling class is a great class for acting, modeling and theater-craft for pre-teens age 8-12. Age-appropriate material helps to instill self-confidence, develop public speaking skills, and introduce theater skills that lay a great foundation for acting and modeling. Students will emphasize runway/modeling techniques, photo-posing techniques, posture, auditioning for stage/film, TV commercial delivery, and polite social etiquette. Our acting classes help students improve public speaking skills, learning stage direction and direction for video and film, reduce stage nerves, and develop a more confident stage presence.  


Acting & Modeling Class (Teens Ages 13-17) This acting and modeling class is a fantastic class for acting, modeling and theater-craft for teens age 13-17. Age-appropriate material helps to bolster self-confidence, build public speaking skills, and enhance theater skills for acting and modeling. Students will deepen runway/modeling techniques, photo-posing techniques, posture, auditioning for stage/film, TV commercial delivery, and polite social etiquette. Our acting classes help students improve public speaking skills, learning stage direction and direction for video and film, reduce stage nerves, and develop a more confident stage presence.  


Talent Competition/Auditions, Pageant Training and Coaching Collierville Arts Academy has trained and coached successful pageant winners for local, regional, and national level competitions and pageants. ACTING and MODELING PROGRAM: FAQs

How do I know what class I belong in at Collierville Arts Academy? Students ages 6 and older are placed into classes first by their age. When you register your student, please be certain you use their correct birthdate so the online system will present you with correct class options. 

How long is the acting and modeling season of classes? Many of our acting and modeling classes are taught as short courses and some are offered as seasonal classes that run similar to a school year (August - May) and in our Summer Session (June - July at Collierville Arts Academy.  

How do I enroll for a class? Enrollment for new students and returning students can be completed online or in-person. To register and enroll online, you can begin by creating your free account online here.

How do I pay my tuition? When you decide to register for a class, our automated front desk management system allows you to select payment options, ten (10) monthly installments at our regular tuition rate, two (2) payments (including a tuition discount), or payment-in-full (including a tuition discount). Monthly tuition installments are due before the 7th of the month. We encourage auto-pay setup to avoid a late payment fee. We accept cash, checks, credit and debit cards for tuition payments.  

Are there any other expenses outside of tuition? There is an annual registration fee of $30 for one student or $50 for an entire family.  If a student participates in a talent competition or similar event, there may be fees associated with that activity.  While we encourage students to audition for roles, compete in talent competitions and pageants, we do not require students to participate in any particular event to be a part of our training program.

What should my student wear to class? Students may wear comfortable clothing that allows for freedom of movement during classes.  If a special outfit is required for a particular class or event, the instructor will communicate that with students well in advance.

Do you offer co-ed classes? Yes, our acting and modeling classes are all co-ed classes.

Can I try out a class before enrolling? Yes, we offer a complimentary visit class for new students. Please call our office at 901-861-7001 to arrange a visit.

I missed fall registration, can I still enroll? Yes, we accept new students year round when we have spaces available in a class. Please call our studio office at 901-861-7001 to inquire or if you do not see a class opening in the online registration system.

Can I observe class each week? Yes, we have an 'open door' policy for parents to observe all of our classes at any time. We have closed circuit camera systems recording 24/7 in all of our studio spaces, so you can sit in the lobby and observe class too.
