Greetings CAA!

After finishing with The Nutcracker and having a welcomed Holiday break, we are now turning our attention to the Spring Show, Snow White and Just Be Friends Jazz/Tap Showcase scheduled for June 2 at the Harrell Theatre in Collierville, TN.

Children enrolled in regular dance classes will have an opportunity to perform with their class group during the Snow White and Just Be Friends performances.

However, there are a number of optional, additional roles that are up for audition:

The Audition Date and times: (for both males and female dancers)

Sat Jan 14, 2012 at 3 - 4pm for dancers ages 7 - 9

Sat Jan 14, 2012 at 4 - 5pm for dancers ages 10 - 12

Sat Jan 14, 2012 at 5 - 6pm for dancers ages 13 - up

Location: CAA Studios at 369 Distribution Parkway

There is NO FEE to audition. However anyone who comes to audition must use proper dress code (i.e. hair in a bun, leotard, ballet shoes etc). No tshirts, shorts, etc. Male and females welcome.

Dear Parents and Students,

I am pleased to announce the 2012 Collierville Arts Academy Annual Student Spring Showcase. The Showcase will feature an original story version of the classic tale of Snow White and a jazz/tap collection entitled Just Be Friends. The entire performance will run around an hour and a half including a ten-minute intermission. The 2012 Spring Showcase will be held at the Harrell Performing Arts Theatre at 440 W. Powell Rd. on Saturday, June 2nd at 7:00pm.

We will have two mandatory rehearsals that all students are required to attend. These rehearsals will be held on May 31st and June 1st at Harrell Theatre.

The 2012 Student Showcase Letter will be mailed to you very soon. Please keep this letter and schedule as it contains answers to many of your questions and you may need to refer to the information from time to time.

The costume photographs, descriptions of props and accessories are now inside the lobby of the studio. Please notice that we will need backstage volunteers for this performance. Please sign up to help in some volunteer area.

Once again, welcome to the new CAA blog!

We hope you had a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Kwanza, and/or other Holiday! This time should be spent resting and enjoying time with family - so we hope that's what you did!

We hope you are also enjoying the excerpts of The 2011 Nutcracker Ballet movie on our website. It was a great learning experience for all of our dancers and parents who were involved. As this was OUR first time to produce and direct a movie, WE learned a lot also! We think the footage speaks for itself - it was well worth it!!

Look for a jam-packed Newsletter coming out very soon! We'll be laying out a lot of upcoming events, dates, and other items of importance for students and parents!
