Tuition Fees

Tuition rates are for the full season (August through May, including studio holidays) not by the number of classes in the month. Tuition fees are paid monthly, by the semester (5 months), or for the year (10 months: Aug-May).

Tuition Payments

After registering (paying for August and May lessons and your registration fee), your monthly tuition (September – April) must be paid by automatic bank account debit or automatic credit card payment.  Tuition will be debited from your account on the 1st day of each month (September – April).  Only tuition fees may be paid by auto-debit or credit card. We do not prorate tuition for ANY reason - except for a major medical emergency.

Tuition Discounts

Additional students residing in the same household enrolled at an equal or lesser tuition cost will receive a 10% discount.

Family Value Plan

Families may wish to consider our Family Value Plan option.  This is a flat tuition amount of $200 paid monthly that allows unlimited access to all CAA group classes in dance, fencing, martial arts, padded weapons, fitness classes and use of our exercise equipment in our workout area.

LATE FEES/NSF Fees

Late Fees are assessed on any account that is overdue the tuition deadline of the 10th of the month. The Late Fee is $15. NSF on paper checks, auto-debit, auto-charge payments will incur a $20 NSF fee which will be charged electronically to your bank.

Withdrawal From Classes

There is a two month payment minimum for all lessons.  One month notice from the first of the month is required to discontinue any payments.  To withdraw a parent must: 1) Inform the studio in person, and 2) complete and sign a withdrawal form.  All automatic bank debiting or credit card charges will stop after the one-month notice period.

Refunds

Refunds are only issued when CAA cancels a class due to low enrollment.

Credit Vouchers

We do not pro-rate tuition for missed classes. Credit vouchers will be issued if a student initiates a schedule change. Vouchers may be applied to any CAA tuition or fees and must be used within one year.

Class Transfer / Change

Changing class sections is allowed within one week of registration without a fee.  There is a $10.00 charge for changes or cancellations made after the initial registration period (one week after registration). Credit vouchers will be issued if a student initiates a schedule change.

Attendance

Regular attendance is vital to student progress. Please make every effort to attend each class. If students miss a lesson due to illness, travel, or other reason, they have the option of attending a ‘make-up’ lesson from our class schedule. For Martial Arts and Fitness classes, students may make up missed classes until June 1st. Students who regularly show up without the proper dress code may be told to watch or may be counted absent.

Rescheduling and Substitution

CAA reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regular teacher is ill or is otherwise unavailable to teach. CAA reserves the right to reschedule or combine classes.

Participating in the Fitness and Martial Arts at the Collierville Arts Academy means the students and/or the parents of student(s) enrolled agree to abide by the following specific policies and expectations:

MARTIAL ARTS and FITNESS DRESS CODE

Students enrolled in our courses MUST wear the appropriate uniforms and clothing. All sports have necessary equipment and clothing specifically designed for that activity and our programs are no exception to this fact. Fitness students may wear appropriate fitness/exercise clothing - please see Ms Julie if you have questions or need suggestions. Please speak with Mr Tom regarding dress code, uniforms, and gear for Fencing, Karate, and Padded Weapons.

MARTIAL ARTS CHARACTER and PLACEMENT POLICIES

From Mr Tom: Students are enrolling in an exceptional program that is unique. There is a very real connection to ancient ideas of honor, integrity, and nobility within our programs. We actively promote these virtuous ideals and expect students to portray the upstanding behavior that a people of good character reflect. Furthermore, when working with weapons, we cannot allow for dangerous behavior such as personal pettiness and poor attitudes. Thus, divisive and negative attitudes will NOT be tolerated. Rather, cheerful obedience, positive camaraderie and encouragement is the name of our game. ANYONE who decides to ignore these expectations risks being asked not to return - and there may not be a second chance.

Placement in classes is based on age, experience, and at the discretion of the Director. Students are also practicing a physical and mental combative art form that requires “doing” in order to truly learn. In addition to attending class once a week, students should have a regular practice routine they follow on other days or they can come to a scheduled practice time. If this advice is not heeded, development may be slower than others who regularly work out.
