The Martial Arts Programs at Collierville Arts Academy challenge students mentally while developing them physically. Our ongoing classes offer stimulating lessons that emphasize teamwork and tactics over force and power.
The Karate program is based mostly on Shotokan karate with some other styles added in at different levels, depending upon age group. The age breakdown is as follows:
Little Tigers Karate - 4 - 6 years old
Junior Tigers Karate - 7 - 12 years old
Tigers Karate - 10 and up
Family Karate - 4 - up
Designed for beginners or those with very little experience, Karate at CAA instills self-confidence as students learn to move with balance and form, deal with confrontation, develop positive virtues, and achieve mastery - all the while receiving a super fitness workout.
Little Tigers meets on Wed from 4:15 - 5:00pm
Tigers Karate meets on Wed from 5:00 - 6:00pm
Family Karate meets on Fri from 5:00 - 5:45pm
At CAA, we say: "Practice doesn't make perfect; Practice makes excellent!"
Our programs emphasize excellence over trying to attain a mystical state of perfection. We realize that everyone is unique and different and with practice, each student can achieve their own state of excellence.
Thus, we motivate, train, educate and constantly encourage students to improve in all ways: mentally, physically, and spiritually.
When does the season for Karate classes begin and end at Collierville Arts Academy?

How do I get started in Karate?
Potential students (and their parents) are certainly encouraged to come and watch a class but the best way to get started is to come and TRY a class. Anyone is welcome to take a FREE CLASS to help decide if you'd like to become a part of our Karate martial arts program and continue with regular, ongoing lessons.
New students may enroll in the Karate programs at ANY TIME. No waiting for a start date. Just come wearing basic workout clothes, ready to learn Karate!
What happens after my free class?
After taking a free class, students who decide to enroll in the Karate programs will be placed according to age as follows:
Little Tigers is for students ages 4 - 8.
Junior Tigers is for students ages 9 - 12.
Tigers Karate is for students ages 13 - older.
What is the Registration process for Karate classes and is there a fee?
Karate students do not pay a Registration Fee until they decide to join the program. If, after taking their free class, a Karate student decides to join the regular, ongoing Karate programs at CAA, a Registration Fee is assessed on the account and they begin to pay tuition according to their payment plan.
Registration for all regular, ongoing Karate students takes place in person at the front counter. Once per year, a Registration Fee is charged to CAA accounts. Our basic Registration Fee (for one student) is $25 and the Family Registration Fee (for 2 or more students from the same family) is $45 total. Registration Fees are due at the time of enrollment.
What about the uniform? When do I have to buy the necessary gear?
The class 'gi' (uniform for Karate class) and first belt must be paid for when signing up for regular classes.
